How can I place an advanced order?
For same day orders, call 804-355-CAKE (2253) and press option 2 to speak to someone in the shop. For advance orders, call 804-355-CAKE (2253) and press option 1 to place your order.
How far in advance should I place my order?
We recommend that you call the bakery to place your order at least three days in advance. We can usually accommodate most orders however, the more notice you give us the more likely we will be able to fulfill your order.
Do you deliver?
We offer delivery service 7 days a week for orders of a dozen or more. Our deliveries are handled by Richmond Courier Express. If you provide us with an address, including the zip code, we can give you a quote while you’re on the phone. Just dial 355-CAKE(2253). The only days we do not offer delivery service are Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year’s Day, and Easter.
Is there a minimum for specialty cupcakes orders?
The minimum order for custom designs is 1 dozen cupcakes. The minimum order for custom flavors is 2 dozen cupcakes, and is dependent upon the baking schedule.

What if I am not satisfied with my order?
We strive to provide the best product possible. However, if you are ever dissatisfied with our product, please return any uneaten cupcakes along with your receipt within 24 hours of purchase and we’ll gladly exchange your cupcakes. We do not offer cash refunds. Custom designs are non-refundable or exchangable.

Does Carytown Cupcakes cater?
Carytown Cupcakes prepares cupcake tree displays for all types of celebrations: from weddings and graduations, to birthdays and corporate events. We also deliver upon request for and additional fee base upon mileage.
What type of custom decoration can you do?
If you can dream it, we’ll try to figure out a way to do it! We can prepare cupcakes with your monogram, favorite picture or company’s logo. We can put hand-piped or fondant designs on your cupcakes.
Does Carytown Cupcakes make wedding cakes?
We will prepare a 6″ cutting cake to accompany our wedding cupcakes. We offer wedding consultations to determine exactly what the bride and groom’s vision is for their cupcake design and flavors.

Where can I find the nutritional information for your cupcakes?
We use only natural ingredients in our cupcakes and icings including milk, cream, butter, eggs, sugar, and flour. Our cupcakes do not contain any preservatives or trans fats in either the cake or icing. We do not have any other nutritional information available.
I have food allergies. Does Carytown Cupcakes make anything wheat/dairy/nut free?
We do make vegan cupcakes and gluten-free cupcakes and many of our cupcakes do not have nuts. However, all of our cupcakes are made in the same facility and we recommend not consuming any of our products if you have any food allergies.
Which products do not contain nuts?
Even if peanuts and other tree nuts are not in all of our baked goods, all of our baked goods are made in the same area where products containing various nut items are created. We use the best practices when in the preparing our baked goods, inadvertent cross-contamination may occur.
Does Carytown cupcakes have any gluten-free cupcakes?
Yes, we have a minimum of 1 gluten-free flavor each day.
Does Carytown Cupcakes have anything sugar free?
Not at this time.

Which cupcakes can be decorated?
Most, but not all, of our cupcakes can have custom decorations. Cupcakes topped with cream cheese icing cannot be decorated with printed images or with fondant as the moisture in the icing causes those decorations to break down.
Can I customize my cupcake order?
Yes, they can be decorated with printed edible images, inscriptions and themed sugar decorations. Printed edible images are printed on sugar paper using food coloring. This sugar paper adheres to the icing. Inscriptions are in buttercream. Cupcakes are an additional $6 per dozen for these types of designs. Call 355-CAKE (2253) and press 1 to place a special order. All other designs are quoted based upon the intricacy of the design.
Should I refrigerate my cupcakes?
The only cupcakes that require refrigeration are the ones with cream cheese icing, if they’re not going to be consumed within the first 4 hours of purchase. Our cupcakes are made without preservatives and should be enjoyed on the day received. If you plan on storing them overnight, tightly wrap the box in plastic wrap and leave at room temperature.

Gift Certificates, Groupons and Living Social Vouchers
Can I use part of my gift certificate and save the rest for another time?
No. Gift certificates must be used in their entirity during one visit.
Can I place a special order with my Groupon and/or Living Social voucher?
No. These vouchers are valid for walk-in purchases.
